Pulp and paper engineers from India visit Sweden

A high-level group from India visited Sweden, September 27-30, 2015, invited by Swedish Pulp & Paper Technology Group, PPT, in cooperation with Business Sweden’s office in New Delhi. The purpose of the visit was to present Swedish technology for mill managers and other important decision makers in India and to give a chance for the Swedish technology suppliers to identify new business opportunities on the Indian market.

Thedelegation from India consisted of 20 persons representing 11 companies, among others the major producers of paper and pulp, such as Ballapur Industries, ITC, Seshasayee, Tamil Nadu Newsprint, Yash, Khanna Papers as well as the Indian Paper Manufacturers Association. The delegation met with ABB/Lorentzen & Wettre, Akzo Nobel Pulp & Performance, Alfa Laval, Andritz, BTG, Clean Combustion, Elof Hansson, Innventia, MoRe Research, SWECO, UMV Coating, Valmet and ÅF Industry. In connection with the study visits in Sweden, business meetings were arranged between the visitors from India and the Swedish technology companies.

We also carry out targeted activities on interesting markets such as India, China, South East Asia, Brazil and Chile in order to identify business opportunities. The aim of PPT is to strengthen the Swedish technology suppliers’ business efforts”, says Ulf Frölander, chairman of PPT.

The industry in India is searching for technical solutions for increased productivity as they aim at modernising and expanding paper and pulp production as well as increasing environmental and energy measures. The world is aware that significant technological advancements have originated in Sweden and international producers attentively watch our new techniques for pulp and paper production.
