Efficiency and performance also in the creation of packaging: this is what Lucart is looking for. Lucart is one of the leading companies in the tissue products sector and has been pursuing sustainability objectives for many years, starting from recycled paper made with beverage cartons to biodegradable packaging.

Gabriele Coli, Lucart’s Engineering Manager, comments: "Primary and secondary packaging are of fundamental importance in our company, so we were looking for a solution that would guarantee quality, efficiency, and performance and that would allow us to respond to the growing demand for eco-sustainable packaging. The analyses of our technicians have shown that, to achieve our objectives, Kӧrber Casmatic was the best technology, so we decided to invest in 8 machines to make primary and secondary packaging”.

Designed to reach production speeds of up to 27 bags per minute, Casmatic CMB270 is able to pack in a high range of formats. Synonymous with quality and reliability, these machines are extremely flexible and versatile, allow energy savings of 60% thanks to the new TOSS longitudinal sealing system, and have been designed to wrap small packaging even at high production speeds. This model is also equipped with a new patented Revolver system that significantly improves the production speed for bundles with single rolls and packages.

CMB270 responds perfectly to Industry 4.0 demands because it is equipped with ALL-IN-ONE technology, an intelligent application that helps to integrate and harmonize the converting and packaging processes, maximizing the result, without the need for human intervention.

In addition to the packaging machines, Lucart has also equipped itself with a Perini MyLine converting line. This line is designed for the production of toilet and kitchen paper rolls with diameters up to 200 mm at a maximum speed of 600m / min and a production of 40log / min. Based on the consolidated Sincro exchange phase system, the Perini MyLine line is equipped with a laminator-embosser with 409mm diameter steel rollers, with DESL or Catalyst technology for the automatic change of steel rollers, in the Pro and Flexy versions.

Giuseppe Alberti Sales Manager Kӧrber comments Kӧrber comments: "Our relationship with Lucart is a long one - 80% of their lines are Kӧrber - this has also allowed for an important customization of the line. With this investment Lucart was able to access the best technology to optimize its production efficiency. A strong competitive advantage for a company that has always focused on high quality and product differentiation to be competitive ".

In Russia, the demand for innovative, high-quality tissue products, including disposable items following the pandemic, has increased significantly in recent years. For this reason, Syassky PPM, one of the most important paper mills in Russia, already active in the Roll sector, has decided to expand its product portfolio by relying on Körber Business Area Tissue’s Fold division.

Dmitry Epifanov, Syassky PPM’ Development Director, comments: "Syassky PPM has been a company with strong pioneering DNA since its foundation in 1928. Despite the strong instability of the markets, we have decided to expand our business in a new sector for us, such as that of interfolded products. This is why we have decided to rely on Körber, a unique, strong and reliable partner, with a complete range of advanced solutions and a global presence”.

Syassky PPM has identified the MTC ITF Towel, Automatic interfolding line for the production of V-folded Hand Towels, as the best solution for its market needs.

Irina Mozhaeva, Syassky PPM’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, comments: "It is not just a purchase of new equipment for us. This is a strategic investment in the development of our production. We plan to expand our presence in the Away from home market, an important part of which are folded products. Our main task is to offer the market the best quality products. I am confident that MTC line will provide us with such an opportunity".

The ITF series interfolders make use of the most advanced electronic and mechanical technologies to always guarantee the quality of the finished product in every converting context, combined with high production capacity, reliability, and high efficiency.

These folding machines were conceived to be tailor-made for the customer, with high levels of customization. In fact, customers can choose the size of the final product as well as various other options.

Syassky PPM represented a further challenge for Körber. The current epidemiological situation linked to the COVID-19 pandemic risked slowing down the installation of the line, and the delay could have cost Syassky PPM precious business opportunities.

Maurizio Rossi, CS Sales Account &Senior Customer Service Engineer at Körber Business Area Tissue, comments: “The resources deployed by Kӧrber and the synergies that were created with Syassky PPM proved to be the key to overcoming the problems derived from COVID-19 restrictions. We accepted the challenge of lockdown, and it encouraged us to develop tools and devices to be able to provide technical assistance and completely support our customers even remotely, thus confirming our position as an innovative player.”

This year Körber introduced the Remote StartUP Teleassistance Team which, thanks to customized video applications, remote diagnostics, and detailed assembly and start-up instructions, was able to perform not only the Final Acceptance Tests (FAT) remotely with live streaming, but also more complex interventions and processes such as machinery installation, commissioning, and production start-up.

The close collaboration between Syassky PPM's mechanical and electrical engineering team and that of the Körber XpertTechnicians made it possible to install the line on schedule, just like usual installations with Körber technicians in attendance.

The MTC lines Körber Tissue Lines are reliable, easy to use, the technical assistance is highly qualified and the new assisted installation systems with which Körber machines are equipped, combined with the ability of the XpertTechnicians, make Körber the ideal supplier for companies that intend to expand their activity in the interfold sector.

JSC Syassky Pulp & Paper Mill

Founded in 1928 with the unique aim to cover the needs of the domestic market, in the last years Syassky PPM put in progress a huge investment process with the result to be able to satisfy the growing demand for domestic but also for export markets.

In Russia, consumer demand for innovative, premium quality tissue products has risen dramatically, driven by tissue manufacturer Hayat Kimya’s leadership in innovation, product differentiation, and quality. As part of its strategic response to the increasing demand, Hayat Kimya is expanding its production in Turkey and Russia with the installation of multiple Perini Constellation™ S8 lines supported by Körber Business Area Tissue’s reliable customer care.

In addition to lines in Turkey, Kӧrber is supporting Hayat Kimya’s installation of Perini Constellation™ S8 lines in a new, 210.000-tonne capacity plant, set for completion by fall 2021 in Kaluga, Russia, just outside Moscow. Hayat Kimya’s investment in the new lines, including wrapping, bundling, and embossing equipment, will make the company the largest tissue manufacturer in Russia — and help catering for the increasing demand for premium tissue products in the Russian market.

2021 02 19 104702“There was a time when only low-end, one-ply and two-ply tissue products were available in many countries,” said Alessandro Granucci, Regional Sales Manager for the Körber Business Area Tissue. “Hayat Kimya introduced premium quality, better-rolled bathroom tissue in three, four, and even up to six plies, elevating consumer expectations while also meeting market demand for such high-quality tissue. Now, one or two-ply products are rarely, if ever, found in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Today’s consumers demand premium options, and Hayat Kimya is well-positioned to meet their expectations as well as to continue its leadership position in the market.”

This dramatic shift in consumer expectations can be catered for thanks to Kӧrber’s industry-leading portfolio that integrates tissue converting and packaging machinery, digital services, embossing technologies, unique supply chain solutions, and aftermarket support. Kӧrber’s reliable solutions and customer care support Hayat Kimya’s delivery of on-demand, premium-quality products in a fiercely competitive, global tissue industry facing complexities that include pulp price volatility, a scarcity of skilled operators, and growing demands for sustainability and overall operational efficiencies.

Hayat Kimya has relied on Kӧrbers best-in-class customer experience and expert collaboration since its establishment in 2003. As industry partner, Körber supported its continued growth into the largest tissue converter of Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe.

Hayat Kimya Global Tissue Production Director Lufti Aydin values the longstanding advantages of the Kӧrber partnership as highly as he does the technologies. “We strongly believe in Kӧrber equipment,” he said. “It’s truly the best technology available for optimizing production efficiency and achieving best quality”

Perini Constellation™ S8 lines’ proven advantages include enhanced product quality, simplified line operations and increased operational efficiencies. These benefits make them the right choice for Hayat Kimya — and have led to sales of more than 100 Perini Constellation™ S8 lines worldwide over the past five years. Perini Constellation™ S8 solutions offer the most uniform rewinding at all speeds and perfect rolls from the first to the last sheet. As a result, customer satisfaction for product quality is close to 100% and over 85% of global customers reported improved operational efficiencies of at least 10%.

Hayat Kimya’s partnership with Kӧrber is shaping future expectations. By accessing Kӧrber’s solutions, service, and ongoing customer support ecosystems, Hayat Kimya anticipates continued success in raising consumer quality expectations and increasing speed to market as it strengthens its tissue industry leadership.

Increased capacity adds opportunities to strengthen differentiation and sales, making greater quantities of unique, premium offerings — such as Hayat Kimya’s signature bi-sided tissue — readily available on the market as the manufacturer further extends its reach in Iran, Egypt, Nigeria, and Russia.
