This year’s edition of China Paper/China Forest, held in Beijing on September 19-21, is drawing closer. Some 300 companies from 20 countries are expected to exhibit at the premier pulp and paper show for the Chinese and Asian markets. Many international companies exhibit regularly at the China Paper event.

- We have many returning exhibitors, who are loyal to the show and participate to keep up the good relations with customers in this very important market, says Patrik Löwstedt, Exhibition Manager. We are also pleased to welcome some new exhibitors to Beijing this year. Many companies have realised that if you are or want to become active in this exciting market, China Paper is an excellent stepping stone.

Allimand S.A. is one of the companies that is a recurrent exhibitor. Allimand is a paper machine manufacturer based in France, whose exports have now reached 85% of its sales. The company has been active in Asia for a long time and it aims to maintain its top position on the Asian market in the coming years.

- The Chinese and Asian markets represent a major part of the worldwide growth in paper and board production and consumption, says Franck Rettmeyer, Chairman & CEO of Allmand.

- The China Paper exhibition is primarily a global meeting point for all Chinese buyers, and this sole reason puts this event on the top priority list for our business activities in Asia. Increasingly, papermakers from other Asian countries are also attending the event, and we expect from this year’s show to create fruitful contacts with most of our established customers in the Asian area as well as with new ones, Mr Rettmeyer continues.

With the first event in 1987, China Paper/China Forest is today the premier event for China's and Asia's pulp, paper making and paper product industries.  Since the year 2000 the event alternates between Beijing and Shanghai. The 19th edition of China Paper/China Forest is held on September 19-21, 2011, at the China International Exhibition Center (CIEC) in Beijing. China Paper is organised by Adforum in co-operation with E.J. Krause & Associates, Inc.

SPCI 2011, held in Stockholm, Sweden, May 17-19, gathered 650 exhibiting companies from 30 countries in 230 stands, and 9,064 visitors from 56 different countries. The new concept of bringing the conference down to the exhibition floor on three activity squares was well received by both visitors and exhibitors.

spci_2011

- We are very pleased with the overall outcome of this year's SPCI, concludes Patrik Löwstedt, Exhibition Manager. The exhibition really looked good, and exhibitors had put a lot of effort into the design of their stands. Most exhibitors seem happy with their results at the show.

Some 160 speakers were part of the impressive conference agenda, put together by the Swedish Association of Pulp and Paper Engineers (SPCI).

- Integrating the conference with the exhibition was a good move, says Patrik Löwstedt. We are thrilled with the design of the three squares and the whole exhibition floor was bustling with activity.

Also new for this year's event was the fact that some of the major international pulp and paper producing companies such Stora Enso and SCA successfully took part as exhibitors.

The evening events proved to be very popular. The formal reception on the opening night of SPCI, hosted by the City of Stockholm and held at the City Hall attracted almost 400 guests including the many international delegations from e.g. China, France, Canada and Russia. The more casual party at Restaurant Josefina's on Wednesday night was attended by nearly 1000 people.

The dates of the 16th edition of SPCI have not yet been finalised

Adforum, the world leading organiser of trade fairs for the pulp and paper industry, is introducing a brand new event for the Finnish pulp and paper industry: Paptech 2012. The first edition of Paptech will be arranged in Helsinki, March 21-22, 2012.The event is based on a totally new meeting concept, enabling easy and cost effective meetings between suppliers and buyers within the pulp and paper industry. Key words for Paptech are intimate, targeted and business-oriented.

The new concept makes Paptech a versatile event. This is a two-day forum where suppliers and buyers meet and do business in a relaxed atmosphere. Participants will be inspired by product presentations, catch up with colleagues over a cup of coffee, meet new and existing suppliers, listen to talks in the Speaker’s Corner, enjoy themselves at the Gala Dinner and mingle in the hotel’s special Paptech bar until late at night. There will be informative seminars, cafés and match-making areas. The entire industry will be gathered in one place. “The design of the venue is all about creating a social scene which stimulates business”, says Marcus Bergström, Vice President at Adforum.

All-inclusive turn key stand packages will ensure that the exhibitor can focus on one thing: doing business. “The new concept entails many advantages”, says Bergström. “Exhibitors are offered a time-saving and cost effective way of participating. They just need to show up and be ready to do business, as all the practical details are taken care of. For the amount of a traditional advertisement in magazine, the companies will meet targeted companies from the industry.”

Another important feature of the new concept is to attract the right visitors. Adforum will together with important trade partners make sure that all the key players of the industry attend Paptech 2012.  The aim is for this event to be a stimulating and high quality meeting place for the Finnish paper industry.

Paptech will play a significant role for the Finnish pulp and paper industry. As the next international PulPaper will be arranged in 2014, Paptech will act as a regional meeting place for the Finnish market between the large, international exhibitions. “Companies have shown a lot of interest in Paptech, which clearly indicates that there is a need for this type of event”, says Bergström.

spci_picNew at this year’s event is that some large companies that traditionally have been visitors to SPCI now participate as exhibitors. Södra Cell International, Holmen and SCA have previously visited the event as buyers. In 2011 they exhibit in large stands.

- Södra has chosen to exhibit to have the opportunity to meet several different target groups that we aim to have a good relation with at the same time, explains Therese Thelin, Marketing Communication Manager at Södra Cell. - Those targets groups are not only customers, but also suppliers and students. We would like our visitors to take part in discussions regarding paper products of the future.

Södra Cell International will present the “Södra Pulp Labs” and their thoughts on future pulp products. The children's chair Parupu, made of pulp, will also be on display. Both the chair and the stand of Södra Cell have been designed by the famous design trio Claesson Koivisto Rune.

Visit www.sodrapulplabs.com for further information.

Margareta Hed from the Corporate Communications Department of SCA says:
- SPCI is an important meeting place for our industry and a good opportunity to meet customers and potential customers. It is also rewarding to meet industry colleagues. We exhibit to highlight the width of what we do and visitors can meet representatives from all our business units in our stand.
